Short, and it matters: we decode published terms. Your documents decide your claim.
Everything on PhoneClaimDecoded — including the free checker — is general consumer education about how carrier phone insurance claims work. It is not legal advice, insurance advice, or a determination about your claim. The checker computes from the figures you enter and the published schedules; it does not see your enrollment, your claim file, or your carrier's records.
Deductibles, claim limits, filing windows, and replacement standards are set by your specific plan and enrollment. Where this site and your documents disagree, your documents are right and this site is a summary. Figures flagged as secondary reporting — notably T-Mobile's — are planning numbers only. Cells marked "your documents control" are cells our research could not verify from a published source; no figure was invented to fill them.
Filing windows are counted here from the incident date using the published plan rules (Verizon: 90 days; AT&T loss/theft: 60 days). Counting rules, exceptions, and notice requirements in your documents can change the last safe day. When a deadline is near, file first and perfect the file after — do not let a website's arithmetic be the reason a claim is late.
Asurion, Assurant, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and CNA are named for identification only. Quoted complaint material comes from public BBB records. This site has no relationship with any of them and receives nothing from them.
